He definitely had a major love of corny songs, but Yesterday, Maybe I’m Amazed, Hey Jude, Eleanor Rigby, Let it Be, and Live and Let Die are pretty damn good too.

I’m willing to completely separate out his Beatles stuff from this judgment. His bass playing on those records is criminally unappreciated.

That leaves Maybe I’m Amazed and Live and Let Die. I’d probably throw in Band on the Run and Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey and maybe Jet. After that there isn’t a lot that I’d defend either.

That works. The Youtube link works too, but you have to go to youtube to see it. Embedding doesn’t work. I don’t even understand that policy that they apply to so many vids.

RAM isn’t a great album, but it’s easily his most consistently good.

Yeah, and speaking of good bass lines Junior’s Farm does pretty well on that score too. Not very technical but a good groove.
